Could not execute MOTODEV Studio for Android installer: No display was identified

I tried the installation for the MOTODEV Studio for Android and no matter wich Ubuntu version I used, it allways ended up with the error message “Could not execute MOTODEV Studio for Android installer: No display was identified“. I followed the information on the developer forum from Motorola and found out, that the simple solution is to install two missing packages (I wonder why the installation procedure doesn’t recognize that). For me only tha package “tk” was missing.

You need to do the following (Ubuntu 11.10 and Ubuntu 12.04):
(change to the directory where you downloaded the MOTODEV Studio installation file)
chmod u+x MOTODEV_Studio_for_Android_4.0.0_linux_x86.bin sudo apt-get install tcl tk sudo ./MOTODEV_Studio_for_Android_4.0.0_linux_x86.bin

Now you should see an installation window where you can follow the installation instructions.

Grillen am Flaucher

Was für ein perfekter Grilltag! Gewitter, Blitz, Donner und Hagel. Alles was man braucht – jedoch nicht, wenn man grillen möchte. Ein paar Lehren habe ich allerdings daraus gezogen:

1. Pappdeckel eignen sich zum Abdecken der Grillkohle
2. Kaputzenpulis sind keine Regenjacken
3. Pappdeckel eigenen sich nicht zum Abdecken der Grillkohle
4. Kamera so oft wie möglich mitnehmen

Also geschmeckt hat es trotzdem und ich kann heute stolz sagen: ich war der letzte, der seinen Grill abgebaut hat! Alle anderen (harten Kerle) hatten bereits aufgegeben. Und da ich meine Kamera dabei hatte, gibt’s wenigstens ein paar Fotos… von Blumen ;).

… und von Wassertropfen, die an Ästen hängen… ;)
